As one of the large-scale modernization Three-A comprehensive hospital, Chongqing Emergency Medical Center (The Fourth Hospital in Chongqing) is the earliest established and sets the first aid, medical treatment, scientific research, teaching and prevention as a whole. It is located in Yuzhong district in Chongqing, covers an area of 20275 square meters and the existing area of 28000 square meters. 80000 square meters of comprehensive hospital building is under construction. It owns 680 sickbeds and 729 on-the-job workers. In March 2011, the hospital was named "Bethune Spirit Demonstration Hospital" by the municipal party committee and government.
